Don't tell me you can't go car free

If you are committed to going car free and have little kids you have one less excuse. Me and my SUV are well beyond excuses but still value this sort of thing a lot. These are from a site worth checking out called Totcycle.

I'd like to be a good guitar player. I have good gear; amps, effects, guitars. - but I rarely play, and can barely please myself when I do. I love music and guitar playing though and I believe I always will, so I can totally relate.

I like that analogy a lot. Are we subconsciously talking ourselves into a guilt free pugsley purchase?

Ya know, I don't really see you owning a Surly. I'm thinking your next compensator should be a carbon, something... -so fast and sleek, perhaps a Madone. I wouldn't want to see you get kicked out of your gated community. No, you leave the Pugsley love to me.

At least 4 of my neighbors have already ridden my tall bike (and loved it). How many of your neighbors have ridden your bikes? I did some price checking with Hollywood at lunch today. I love buying stuff from him. He is always fair with prices, knows what he is talking about, treats me and my opinions with respect and gives incredible service. The Pugsley love needs to be shared among as many of us as it can be so we can do Pugsley rides together.

I bet you love owning the stuff you buy from him too... with all of those memories of the respect and incredible "service" just oozing from the pristine machine, naked steel gleaming in the sun as if you had just spent hours cleaning and polishing it...

...Sorry about that, after reading your last comment I thought I was watching Sex in the City for a moment...

Seriously though, I spent a bit thinking about how you always bond so well with your neighbors - I know it's true that you do. Why do you? - Homogeneity. My neighbors include retirees, single mothers, parents of highschoolers, twenty-something lesbians, religious nuts, and reclusive singles as well as a couple of young families like us. Your neighbors are all twenty, thirty and forty-something "college-graduate professional" couples raising young families (in a brand-new housing development). I'm sure you'll be quick to point out the exceptions but I think I'm on to something.

Jay has the best service, knowledge and price combo of any shop in town. I swear he must have taken a loss on each bike purchase he has made to me with all the time and extras he has thrown in. My love is way more than sex in the city. It is more of a Billy Bob Thornton, Halley Berry Monsters ball kind of thing. The Homogeneity of the suburb is what makes it the kid Disneyland heaven that it is.
